I'm having a hard time picking one of these:
Focusrite Saffire 6 USB (my favor, although 20€+ but 48kHz)
M-Audio FastTrack Pro (96kHz and S/PDIF)
My question is: Is FFT sound-analysis significantly better with 96kHz than with 48kHz? Does it even make sense to use it at 96kHz? E.g. for analyzing the signal of a DJ or live band… you get the point. I'm not so much interested in theory than I am in experiences of yours (if possible).
Oh and by the way: The M-Audio has S/PDIF in and out but do you ever (and in what setups) use it?
