Mac camera input - low framerate

Hi I have just started testing Resolume on a mac to see if it could be an alternative for me (I'm a long time Modul8 user)
I find that the camera input in Resolume is lacking and I want to ask if there are ways to improve performance.
- The built in I sight camera: I see a lot of lag. More than one second delay it seems. This is much more than I expected
- I have also tried a Matrox MXO2 mini which I use to capture the output of another laptop (720p). I get a much lower frame rate in Resolume than in quick tests using Modul8 and vdmx. In Resolume the FPS is around 10-12 where as I get full frame rate in Modul8 and VDMX
Is there anything I can do to improve these results? Or is this a known problem?
