OSC clip name?

Can someone explain the OSC name parameter mentioned in the manual please.
I can't get it to do anything.
I am sending /layer1/clip1/name OSX:/Users/user/Desktop/Juri/Juri.mov
but no luck.
So I'm thinking it sets the name of the clip as opposed to the filename but:
/layer1/clip1/name fred does nothing either.
What I'm trying to find out is this:
Is there a way of getting or setting the filepath of a clip via OSC?
Thanks

nope, at least not that I know. But the idea is quite interesting.
I remember a show way back in time. We had a setup where people could dress as super heroes and then were taken pictures of. That data was sent to the machine every 15 minutes or so and then automatically placed into a "comic style grid" via flash, projecting the whole thing onto the wall. Nice show
Maybe you could do this via flash. Loading the clip into Avenue but updating the content via flash/QC

I didn't write the code back then so I can't help you now. Anyone else got an idea?

Coincidentally I've got a Bluetooth Slideshow - Flash + PHP - which works in Resolume.
However in this case I was thinking more along the lines of making a decent waveform viewer in Max or M4L.
Dragging the same file into both Resolume and the viewer makes it a bit of a workflow killer though.

can you explain a bit more in detail. I don't get it

Just wondering if there is a workaround for not being able to zoom in particularly on the waveform of audio clips.
I thought I could make a max patch to edit them and then send the values to Resolume,
But if one has to drag each file into both apps its hardly worth it.
I'll just carry on using my ears!

Oh now that I somehow understand what you are saying

I remember that I wanted to write a MAX patch to have numeric input for the FFT. I could probably as well translate the values so you'd be able to input the frequency.
Still I don't fully understand what you're after. Is it that you want more precise control over the min and max values of the FFT? Or what do mean by editing the waveform? Do you want to "see" the waveform in detail and then based on that visually decide where you want the FFT min and max to be?

No not FFT, just in/out and cue points

Ok last try
We're talking about numerically setting the in/out and cue points of a clip?
That's pretty darn easy. I think I can set this up in the next couple of days.

Sending the values isn't the problem!
Its detecting the file path of a clip to display the waveform.
Hence the thread......

At the moment you can not load a a new file via OSC. This would be a nice feauture though, but i'm afraid it's not high on our todolist.
