Strobe effect - so basic, still not quite there?

Hi,
Is there a way to tie strobing to BPM?

I'm missing a simple strobe effect I can adjust to BPM's - something so basic, still not there...
I know there's a Timeswitch plugin for 3.3, but although you can vary the frequency, there is no link between such frequency and the music playing - as far as I know.

////
Also, back in 2.4 there was the 'previous' timeswitching functionality, also tied in to BPM - which was great, since I could synch all three layers to different frequencies, and leave it play for a while by itself. That way it showed the different layers, *in synch*, one after the other, without me having to do anything.

There is no way of doing this currently - the timewswitching simply isn't synched, and I can't find any way of doing it!

'Sources' tab > FFGL Sources > Stroboscope. You can set the frequency to be driven by BPM - does this help?

hmm.. nope, missing.
Only shows Feedback / Gradients / Solid color.
I've looked for FFGL 1.5 but can't find anywhere to download them - only to develop them.

I've scoured the web for plugins to no avail (for Mac, specially).

So... I might have to create a Flash animation that 'blinks' then... use a video clip as a strobe instead. Not ideal...

Hmmm, I guess someone else might know why it's not showing... it was in the base install for 3.3 and earlier versions. Are you running 3.3.1? Maybe it got dropped...

Nawp, testing 3.0 on a Mac...

Strobe is present in 3.3, but still not synched to BPM.

Still no idea how to find/install FFGL 1.5 plugins. Are they simply not available, and only come bundled?

There's been quite a few request for a BPM synced Timeswitcher, so I've made a feature request ticket for it. We can't give any promises on when it will be done, but thanks for letting us know what you'd like to see implemented!

Hello Joris

i think i am in the good post:

i would like to strobe on a BPM basis: I want to see the video for a few milliseconds on each beat.
How could i do that?
I don't want to use an opacity with "composition beats", because it will not strobe but fade out...

Thanks!

Take a look at MultiStrobe from 1210 Visuals: http://www.1210visuals.net/index.php?op ... &Itemid=59

I see.

Well, in that case you can either ask Rene from 1210 if he can fix it, or perhaps someone on this forum would like to make a plugin for you?
