hi guys,
i was wondering what the precise functionality will be for the network stream function.
because in the sneakpreview page it says "say goodbye to your V4" and im on the brink of bying one....
so if it could be explaned in some more detail it would be very helpfull and it would possibly spare me â¬1100

...
tnx allready,

the network streaming thing enables you to take the output from one computer and use in in one of the channels on a second computer and mix it again with other clips. so it is infact a mixer ... but i hear only good things about the v4 so it is not a bad investment i guess ...

wow - this is just the feature i've been looking for. been meaning to invest in another machine to do something similar with an analog source. a networked source will be great knowing there will be no loss of signal quality.

yes thats right there is no signal loss because we send uncompressed video frames over the network ... it requires a bit of bandwith but thats no problem over firewire networking or gigabit ethernet ... but with 100mbit you can already do a lot

With this networking feature can I feed the output from my DV camera into my PC via firewire and use that as one of my channels?
Thanks

Skot - you can currently do that now with V1.51.
It will no doubt be in resolume 2

the networking just links the output from resolume to another computer running resolume ... if one of the computers has a live input yu can then send that signal to another computer

Are you planning on maybe offering settings for the network features - maybe a 1/2 res version to support wifi speeds?
