I would like to know if using a lot of layer in a project even them are not used is bad for the cpu performances.
for a project i need about 6 layers max but when i use only 1 or 2 does the others use cpu ?

Most of the computational power for rendering is drawn from the GPU not the CPU, when layers are empty they are ignored and thus don't effect the performance. But please try and see for yourself wether your machine can handle up to 6 layers of video.
