resolume 2.0 will not run on a mac ...
but rendering your video will still take long .. in fact i have never met anyone who bought a mac because it is faster, (its not) only because it is pretty (it is) ;-)

ooh don,t let this tread turn in a mac vs pc war!

Well i guess it depends on what you render....

I have 2 macs, a power mac g4 and powerbook.. They are bout 3 years old. And doing stuff on them is slowly coming to a halt.

Right now am using a p4 2.8. Kinda switch over cause you can get a pc for about half the price for a similarly speed mac.

For me, i dont consider getting a mac or pc over their speed. But rather for their colors.

As i do design, the mac is better for print design as the color is match better to the commercial printer i use. But for web, i use a pc as most of the target audience out there uses a pc.

Bit of side line, i don't really like os x interface. Too much eye candy and uses too much cpu resources. I still stick to os 9 but software is slowly getting out dated.
cheers

come on bart...
everybody know's mac's are better than pc's because everybody says so,you know think different and all that shit, you know "supercomputers" and all that lot
i did a gig last week with my friends "supercomputer"
powerbook 1.25, 1 gig of ram, lacie fw, s-video running into a canopus, firewired into resolume
and it shut down after about 30 minutes from heat
but hey it looks good..
and by the way i have a g4 desktop and a pc tower i drag around for resolume.
it not a pc vs mac thing
its called marketting

if a three minute video is taking one hour to render on a P4, 2.6 Ghz, you have serious problems with your computer. i have the same processor and it takes no more than 10 minutes to render clips for resolume.

bah.. quite strange... how can you say how a 3 min video take to render if you don't know of what kind of video are we talking: the software, compositing, 3d render, particle effects, grain, there are a lot of variebles..
(mac are good only for publishing just because service still use only them)
bye
