hi everyone
here it goes, i've never bought a laptop, been clinging to tower power for as long as i could, but... well.. things change... luckily
im aiming at a lasting laptop (2+ years would be great) capable of runing 5\6 layers of 1920 at the stable framerates i do now (40\60fps) on a 1k€ budget
im currently with a tower:
-core2duo e6550 2.33,
-5gb ddr2,
-gtx460,
-wd10k-raptor
-an old philips 17 screen
and to replace it on stage, im looking at this dell xps 17 at dell.uk for 850£~=1000€
-Intel i5-560M (2.66 GHz,3M)
-17.3" HD+ WLED True-Life (1600x900)
-4096MB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
-1TB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Dual HDD - (2x500GB)
-6-cell 56Whr Lithium Ion battery
-1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 435M
and i think it has dvi, hdmi, and displayport, from what i could gather from other sites (not dell's site afaik)
but as i said... never had a laptop so i would apreciate any input you guys might have on this
thx
