Hi there,

I am having a problem playing back audio with video in resolume avenue.

I export the audio and video separately (video-DXV , Audio-Wav)

The video plays fine but when i drop the audio on the clip the video stops playing and will not play until I delete the audio from the clip. Then It plays fine again
I can see the audio in the clip properties timeline but It will not play. When I drop it in a yellow loading bar appears on the clip and then nothing happens
Once I delete the audio from the clip the video plays fine again

The weird thing is that sometimes I don't get this problem and an audio/video clip plays fine.

I have tried exporting the audio as an AIFF file but same problem occurs.

I have the latest version of resolume avenue.

Any help greatly appreciated!

The yellow loading bar is in fact not a loading bar at all. It's an indication of the beat snap/quantization feature. When you trigger a clip, and beat snapping is turned on for that clip or the entire composition, the clip will wait for the next beat of the clock to launch the clip. Handy for AV sets or for tight triggering of clips in time with the BPM.

What is happening in your case sounds like a combination of two factors.
1. By adding audio to your clips, the resulting AV clip is automatically set to BPM sync mode, and also to a 1 bar beat snap.

2. The reason it doesn't play with beat snap turned on is most likely because of the clock not running. If you check next to the BPM indicator, tap and resync buttons, there should a timer running, increasing at the current BPM. If this timer is not running, but instead stuck on 1.1, it means your clock is not running. So any clips set to beat snap will forever wait for the next beat, and never actually trigger.

There are a few possible causes for the clock not running, but usually it's because midi clock is turned on for any devices in the midi tab of the preferences. Also you can simply turn off beat snapping for all clips in the Composition menu.

When you remove the audio from an AV clip, it reverts to timeline mode and no beat snap, and that's why it plays properly without audio.
