Low Framerate with Quadro FX 1800M

Hello!

For my next gig im working with 720p material. My set is based on multiple layers with transparency.
I rendered the clips using the dxv-codec. but even if i only have one layer active, the material is juddering.
Adding multiple layers with alpha channels makes it worse.
The size of the clips varies but one of the bigger clips has around 300MB.
Im working on a hp 8540w with an intel i7 640 dual core 500MB 7200rpm and a nvidia quadro fx 1800m with 1GB memory (windows 7 64bit). Im wondering about whats causing this problem ... can it be the harddrive .. or the graphicscard - i checked if there are compatible omega drivers for windows 7 but right now they are only available for vist 64bit. I have the latest nvidia driver installed.
Im happy for any advice!! thanks!!

What is the framerate you're getting from Resolume (you can monitor it via the Output menu -> Show fps)?

its between 35-40fps ... the juddering is not very consistent.

It sounds like it is the harddrive then. Unless you're using 50fps footage, 35-40 fps should be enough to play back frames smoothly. Have you tried using an external disk (high bandwidth, high RPM, or better yet SSD)?

No not yet ... i will give it a try with an external one ... so you think an internal 7200 rpm might be too slow?

the problem is that a 2,5" notebook hdd is much slower than a 3,5" drive with 7200rpm!
also usb 2.0 is not really fast enough, you will need a better interface!

the internal hdd im using is one with 7200 rpm ... a 3,5'' hdd is still faster?
so you would suggest an external with esata or usb3.0 connection? (ssd maybe .. but thats the most expensive option i guess)
i also just compared my dxv clips to the sample 720p sample clips available on this site. the 30sec orange strings
sample clip has a datarate of 13Mbit/s. My 30sec dxv clip has a datarate of 115Mbit/s (filesize 385mb). I rendered this with After Effects - The clip has a lot of detail but does it have to be that high? I didnt find a method to lower the data rate which probably causes the juddering during playback.

I also realised that the dxv clip with 100mbit/s plays smoothly in resolume2. But as im working with transparencies in other clips i cant really use the older version of resolume. Can this also be a graphics card problem .. or a renderproblem in resolume avenue?
I uploaded two of my clips here: www.markus-wagner.at/res/dxvsamples.zip .. they both have around 15mbit/s.
if i make two layers with them - blendmode alpha (as they have transperency included) - i get 30fps in resolume avenue but the playback still stutters.
