key mapping using wireless numeric pad

Hi
I feel like this is a dumb question, but here goes:
I'm trying to key map various on/off buttons for several comp effects, and I want to map them to the keys on a wireless numeric keypad. However, I only seem to be able to map certain keys. Numbers 0-9 are OK, but +, -, (, ), etc. do not map correctly. Is this because they are reserved somehow by Resolume? Or does the program detect these keys differently because they are on a separate wireless keypad?
