Hi,
I´d like to know what features may interfear on a laptop playback speed.
I got a laptop (Compaq P4, 2.5G, 512RAM, ati345 video card) and it gets slow when I put 2 layers together.
I want to know what´s the problem: the amount of memory, de HD speed, the video card?
And what can I do to solve this problem. Buy a new laptop? Use a external hd?
Although some loop are very small (vector swfs) when I put 2 together and use the 2nd monitor (using the vga output) the animation gets slow.

can try to change your screen options...
set your laptop monitor as number 2 and output as number 1.
What screen resolution are you working?
For output I recommended you 320x240 scale to 800x600 16 bits at resolume and your output resolution 800x600 16 bits

The output res is 640x480 and I set in resolume 640x480 to current monitor ou to 640x480.
I tried the 320x240 to 800x600 but many loops got pixelized because I use vector graphics and some have thin lines and objects that get distorted in any other set different then 640x480.
Anyway, Id like to know how can I improve my hardware to use resolume better and don´t slow down the playback.

you have to change the options of your monitor ATI. Just set monitor 1 like 2 and 2 like 1

also be sure to set both monitors to 16 bit colour

I set the monitor 1 to 2 and the anomations became faster. It´s a good option.
But the resolution 320x240 to 800x600 doesn´t work fine with some videos that have lines. But I´ll use 400x300 or 512 to current monitor (set to 800x600).
I´d like to know also if I use an externel HD the speed would increase. Even if some videos have less than 100k.

an external harddisk can be faster if you use an firewire 7200 rpm or higher for instance. the faster the harddisk the better of course.
also with smaller files.

i thought, USB 2.0 would be faster than firewire?
am i wrong?
