Memory feature for clip setting.

Hey Ho Resolumes,
right now I'm preparing for a yearly festival. Every year the hardwaresetup in the partytent changes... one year they are using a bunch of projectors....the nother year they are useing projectors and led panels...and this year they are using a massive ammount of led panels.
Every Year I have to build a new complex composition containing of Artnet,OSC,Midi - mappings...and up to 1000 clips....but berhaps not the same clips as last year....I'll take some clips I used last week in a club.

And here comes my missing feature which would be great to have a faster workflow.... :P

Once you set a clip to "beatsync" with 8 beats and "disabled beatsnap" option ..It would be awesome if Resolume automatically make these settings ... when I drag'ndrop the clip in a new composition.

Shure, it doesn't make sense with all settings of a clip...but the beat of a clip actually never changes!?

There are a couple of indicators resolume can use to identify a clip.....filename, length and codec!?

Such a funktion isn't really new...I even find it in my Pioneer CDJ-600 Drives....very usefull.

hmm...okay thats it...

Hey Cosmowe

This is pretty much why we introduced the ideas of decks and compositions, so you can tweak your settings just right and then save them for later use.

When it comes to making new combinations, In R4 you'll be able to copy/paste clips between decks, so you can just load the old deck in, copy the clips you need with settings intact, and close the deck again.

Hope that's what you're looking for!

grrrr ;)
So... u mean that I should use the decks as a storage for ALL my clips and only have one or two maindecks for the temporary party?

It took me a while to figure out a good workflow for this sort of thing, but these days I have one massive composition containing all my material, divided into themed decks with all clips set correctly and effects applied where necessary.

I only open this comp when adding new material. Live I set up a new composition for that night (or start from a few basic ones) and then double click the decks I need to add from the browser. That way things load pretty quick, and I don't have to wade through a hundred open decks I don't need anyway.

Needless to say, that one comp is worth more than gold for me ;-)

In the file browser, you can double click the deck you want (so not the entire composition, but just the deck), and it will be added to the current comp. No need to even create a new blank deck first. We're hoping to introduce jumping to decks and effects by keypresses in R4, which should make this workflow even sweeter.

Of course you need to take dedicate some studio time to preparing different decks for different setups (SD/HD, LED, projector etc) but preparation time is time good spent in any profession.
