im hoping somebody can help with this as on this occasion google is not being my friend.

with the whole mask making task is there a way of using the 2nd monitor / output to projector to show a full screen preview from photoshop while you edit the mask on the main monitor. effectively you are painting the mask on your laptop screen but matching it up in realtime with the output on the projector.

any help or tutorials would be awesome

cheers guys

clone your desktop instead of extending it ;)

not the one im affraid

i have sussed it and it means no toolbars that resize the image slightly on the 2nd monitor either so the mask you make can be dropped straight into resolume etc etc and be 100% precise, it also means you can edit the image in whatever resolution you want on the laptop monitor too as it displays on 2 screens at the same time.

open up photoshop cs5 and create an image the size of the resolution you will be outputting, next set your 2nd monitor to that resolution and set it as an extension of your desktop. now select, window / arrange / new window for "name of composition "untitled-1" or the file name. drag this new tab over to your 2nd monitor and select view / screen mode / full screen mode.

whammy, you can edit on the laptop and preview it on the projector at the same time.
