Okay, okay, you guys probably heard it thousands of times but this newbie needs some help. I´ve been fooling around with v1.51 an 2.0 a little while and find the 2.0 a whole lot niftier than the 1.51. Can´t wait for the real realease!

Now I´m running an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 512MB DDR, 80 Gb 7200rpm HD and a dual head ATI Hercules all on XP pro.

And are still not very happy with it´s performance. I´ve already used the info here and tweaked my system a little. Looked around for some codecs and actually dont´t know which ones to install and which ones not.
Do I need to get more RAM? Is it a CODEC thing? Is it a better idea to get an extra HD to split up my program files and the video files. (if you now what I mean)

thx 4 everything in advance

keep up the good work you guys!

Hi Tknomel,

i think the best "tweak"for u would be to get a second hd.
what u could do before u spend a lot of cash on a S-ata disk or something, is try an external hd from a friend or someone.
that would give u an idea of the performance boost it gives your computer.

i dont know where u are located but maybe even someone in this forum can show you?

greetz,

Second HD must run on 7200 rpm.Conect it on second IDE chanel or on raid chanel.
Or put it in external firewire enclosure with Oxford 911 chipset.
Second solution is more expensive.

And browse to this site: http://www.videoguys.com
Configure your computer for videoediting:)
