I have been able to create a mask elsewhere in R4.0.0 (release) by dragging and dropping a PNG, but the layer mask drop area does not accept them. The Cursor turns into the normal "allowed drop target" cursor (arrow with a [+]) but nothing happens on release.

XP Pro Sp3.

I just downloaded the R4 demo right now, and have almost the same problem.

The manual says: 'You can do this by dragging and dropping files from your operating system file browser but it is really much easier to do it using Resolume's built in browser.'
R browser is too small for me (and in R3 take a lot of time building thumbs). Not problem, I don´t need the R browser, I use to work with Adobe Bridge.
Ok then, I'm over win7. When I drop from Windows Explorer or Adobe Bridge any PNG mask to a clip, all works fine. But, when I try to drop a mask to a layer (or comp) nothings happen.

I noticed that works if at first time I drop a mask from the R browser, then I can drop masks from any other soft.
I suppouse is just a bug. What do you think guys?

It works fine via the Resolume built-in browser.

Works for layer or composition

Here is a bug:

If Resolume cannot find the mask when opening (wrong path or re-path for example), it crashes.

is there any solutions or alternatives to this question? Arena just chrashed when i tried to drag and drop an PNG mask to the composition.

Is is possible to import the PNG in other ways?

There are two bugs in this thread, but it sounds like you are experiencing something different. If you can repeat this crash, please contact us at mail@resolume.com, and send us the png file.

I managed to make arena chrash again, by dragging a PNG to the composition properties. Where shall i drop the PNG to make resolume accept it as a mask? I doesn't appear in the clip columns either when i drop it.
