need a little help with system configeration

I'm doing first live AV show next week, and I have added a hybrid SSD drive to my macbook pro, with I was going to use for all my content, thinking been the resolume could read the data faster and improve the stability of the system, but seeing as there are so many tutorials about setting up your OSX partition on the faster ssd / hybrid drive, so opperating system runs faster.
The system is ok at the moment, I'm just wondering which improvement would be best to make terms of performance, boot time and all that stuff does not really mean that much, Am I right in thinking that putting the OS on the ssd/hybrid wouldn't really do much to resolumes performance?

i'd imagine running everything off ssd would be better. (correct me if im wrong) are you going to be running particular heavey compositions? what sort of resolutions? Layers etc?

whats the spec of your machine now?
