Track Matte

Hello all,
so i'm wondering is there a track matte feature in Resolume like in After Effects.
Essentially having two clips, clip A with Alpha, where clip B can take clip A's alpha and use it. Clip A can still be played, or can be made invisible, it's animated alpha applies to clip B.
I tried the various layer modes but they only effected the layer it was applied to, not the layer underneath.
I'm coming from a motion graphics background and I use the track matte a lot, it's a great way to combine two clips and to massively extend your library without having to render a lot of clips.
If you've any suggestion they'd be much appreciated.
Thanks folks,
Macd
