Win 7 SP1 - Yeah or Nah

I'm curious to know everyones opinion on install widows 7 sp1 on your rigs. I reinstalled windows 7 and updated to sp 1 and now I see some chugging on when playing back clips that I've played back before on the same system without sp1. The reason went to SP1 is because the new driver AMD driver says that it is required. Resolume says the fps is between 79 - 99 during the chugging
So the only things I've changed is SP1 and the New AMD Driver.
My system should be able to handle outputting 1 layer at 1920x1080 and a Layer that has a PNG Logo that has a alpha channel.

8 GB RAM
HD7970
Intensity Pro Card
SSD for OS
4 Drive RAID stripe for Content that is all 1920x1080 DXV
The output to the projector is 1920x1080@30Hz to a DVI-SDI box that goes to the SDI in to a Christie HD10K.
