hi danger,
if u have a minidv cam u can record the output the first 15 minutes or so.
or tape it at home with some standard material.
in case of an emergency u can switch to that..
pros:
will work even when u have a fuse blown where your computers are (if the beamers are on another group) a dvd player wont unless u have one that runs on batteries. u can just send the video out of the cam directly to the beamer.
cons:
at the end the tape needs to rewind.

well.... if you have some money,
you also can do this with a dvd-recorder.
pros: no more rewind, play in repeat mode.
cons: cost.

Danger,
My PC lock after 4 hours...(but everybody know...microsoft windows memory management sux).
When i need to restart or when some shit happens, I change the video signal to a dvd player (visual graphics or people dancing) , the rule is:
Play anything, don´t leave the big screen fade to white
But please don´t show your last vacations with u´r family.
