Hello, I'm new to Resolume and VJ'ing (been a DJ for years) in general so please be easy on me for my noob-ness. This is my first post, great forum you guys have here. But to the point, I'm looking to get into some projection mapping and I was wondering you guy's thoughts on Resolume 4 and the Novation Lauchpad? I have one laying around and if its a useful VJ tool then I'd love to use it but if not I can grab something else. I'm just gonna be triggering clips and maybe moving to 3D mapping eventually. Any help is appreciated! Much love.

Hi There,
Welcome to the forum and to the world of VJing. Thats great you come from a music background as vjing is just matching that.
Sounds like your set so far

first of all i would start with getting some loops, load em into Res and have a mess about. get a feeling for the program and what it doesnt. Ive not personally used the Novation but plug it in and see if it maps (i'd be suprised if it didnt) - I think when you VJ it will all depend on your style of how you play as to what controller you use. Thats my opinion anyways. I suppose its really similar to Djing and when your finding your way.
Cool, mapping is a bit of a stepup so just start small and go from there. Just working on small projects will give you a good idea of the process and just take it from there.
Have fun!
