I know discrete graphics are better, but I'm asking my self if the new macbook air with a 2.0 i7 and HD4000 IGP would do the job with 720 footage and not that many layers. What do you think? Thanks

It's not so much a question of better, it's that some features just don't work with the Intel cards. Whether or not it's sufficient for your purposes is something you'll have to test yourself.
