which codec for really long clips

I'm working on clips at 3328x763 resolution, some might be up to 5 mins long. With these clips playing backwards etc won't happen. IS DXV still recommended for this?

Yeah, I think even for these resolutions its recommended. I think in general DXV is one of the selling points of Resolume.

Besides the quick shuttling, the main advantage is that DXV is decoded on the GPU. This means it can decode the pixels in parallel, instead of in series when done via the CPU. This makes it extremely well suited for achieving high fps playback, especially at higher resolutions. You do need a SSD to get it anything decent out of it at this resolution. But then again, you're working at high end resolutions, so you need high end equipment.

But feel free to compare it to any other codec (H264, AIC, ProRes, PJpeg, Animation etc). You'll come back to DXV soon enough ;)
