I thank you - see, I said it was embarrassingly simple - staring me in the face

This is probably embarrassingly simple, but why is there type on the top left of my projector screen, telling me it is display 2 and my graphics card details? Using recent MBP 15" with 8Gig RAM and AMD Radeon HD 6770M - I have searched high and low to find a solution...
