Recommended computer specs for 4K

I've been asked to determine the specs needed for the machine that will run the visuals for a high-profile event.
It should run a 4K composition. Up to 5 layers and plenty of generative stuff and effects.

How much RAM, processor, graphics card, hard drive etc..?

Working on 2 machines.

I have a project where I'll build up a composition on my machine, which will later be transferred to the machine that will be used for the show.
Is there a checklist somewhere listing EVERYTHING to consider?
From relinking files to MIDI maps, plugins used etc...

The more I think about it, the more ...

Problems with rendering in Alley

I'm often have problems using H264 files with audio rendered in Alley.
It appears that Alley uses AC3 to compress the audio, but a lot of things will only accept AAC-compressed audio.
Is there a workaround which doesn't involve other software?

Re: Very strange behaviour with Wire patch in Resolume.

I figured out that the issue is caused by presets.
There were some presets for an earlier iteration of the same source that had been saved in Arena. If one of those presets was used on the newer iteration, the problem occurred so I guess it's a bug related to saving presets in Arena and then ...

Very strange behaviour with Wire patch in Resolume.

I have a Wire source with a parameter on its dashboard that runs from 0 to 0.2
Once I'm using the patch in Resolume, "sometimes" that same parameter only goes as low as 0.1
Even within the same Resolume composition, the same Wire source on different clips will have instances where the parameter has ...

Re: beyond confused with equal node

Thanks for your help.
In any case, I'm trying to understand what is actually going on as this behaviour makes no sense to me. Can you shed a light?
It looks like there is more than one signal travelling through the node. One is the Boolean true/false, but there's also a trigger of sorts going down ...

Animation preset issue

I'm not sure if it's a bug, an oversight or a feature but...
When saving animation presets the positioning of the in-out brackets of the parameter doesn't get saved.
In my mind, this is an integral part of the animation so I was surprised to find this out.

Re: beyond confused with equal node

Ok.
I've fixed it by putting an IF after the equal, but I still don't fully understand how it all works.

From the training videos, a Boolean set to event shouldn't be outputting anything unless its input value changes.
Receiving False repeatedly does not count in my book as a value change.
Can ...

beyond confused with equal node

With the patch shown below, I would've expected Equal to only output something when the left =1.
Whatever I've tried, it outputs a trigger on every single Bar click, independently of whether left and right are equal or not. Hovering over the output reveals the correct True/False statement though ...

Node definitions and data types

I'm trying to find info on Wire's data types, and I keep seeing mentions of an article about them, yet I can't find the article anywhere.

I'm also trying to find info or definitions on some of the Wire nodes, and I'm going round in circles (no pun intended!).

I'm mainly talking about the ...
