i used virtualdub to chop the clip down ! - not bad.
However when i took the 1:30 clip and edited it down to 40 seconds its file size went from 25meg to 504 meg !!!!
I then found there was no compression on the export :) So adjusted that and was fine.
My initial thoughts are - i need some kind of ...

I am now able to get clips from dvd into resolume :) Only one slight issue however - I can rip a chapter from dvd into .mov or .avi using Streamclip, but I cannot choose/find the DXV codec..... I have been using an Invideo codec that I installed. What would the name show up as ...

The DJ side is a lot less demanding that the music production side (not multitracked etc etc), but it seems to be a beefy enough laptop, at least for now.
