forget what i said here...i think i've now solved it ....I didn't have the IAC DRIVER BUS1 on.....
switching this on as midi input on the preferences midi page as well as the edirol fa 66 midi interface as midi input solves it!!
and putting both on the mac audio midi set up page!!!!!

Hi,
reducing the buffer size from 512 to 128 gets rid of the problem ...the sync now seems perfect.Everything you mention above I had all ready done and the sync was going out as the clip played .Lowering the buffer size seems to get rid of the problem

is it something to do with the buffer size setting?... as I have just found putting the beat snap starts the clip at the right place but the click wanders out of sync with the audio on the wav on the clip with time as the track progresses.
I think the buffer size may be the culprit...so any tips on ...

I'm definitely playing the clips in BPM sync mode ...problem occurs in this mode.
Set up is Yamaha RX17 drum computer midi out to midi in of Edirol FA-66 interface which attaches via firewire to macbook pro with 10.5.8 running Resolume.Clips on resolume have video and audio wavs loaded ...

Hi Joris,
doing this is now fine in logic to resolume.
But the band thought we'd try another set up.With logic there is obviously the delay in going from song to song of having to close a song down when finished and start another one which can be about 7 seconds.So we tried a set up with a drum ...

thanks for your answer...I'm going to go the route you suggested last resolume for visuals only and logic for sound....
May be a silly question but can you tell me with both resolume and logic on the same laptop is it possible to midi them together or do they need to be on seperate ...

I play in a live band using audio backing tracks that are sent to the PA with our drummer playing to click and we've just decided to use video VJ visuals projected onto a backdrop when we play.
