So i leave to the resolume programmers team this suggestion:
would be nice to have a shortcut/midi key that directs the next chosen effect to the active channel, instead of pushing it into the active effect layer.

i am talking about the overlay sub-modes.
When you right-click on the 'wipe' mode, for example, a list of sub-modes is shown:

Pd push down
Pu push up
Pl push left
....
Zs zoom switch

My quest is - is there any shortcut key or midi note that lets you jump the current selected sub-mode to ...

ok, thats when you assign an effect to the selected slot in the effects rack but,
what about assigning effects directly to clips (channels) ?
..is there any way of doing it using the midicontroler or the keyboard ? (instead of dragging them using the mouse - the only way i know)

help: i need to switch inside the current overlay mode (like jumping from one type of 'wipe' to the next one) using the key shortcuts or the midi keyboard...
couldn't find a way to do this.. is there any ?
