Thanks. reconnect won't work because I don't get any error or relocate messages as in the manual illustration. Renaming the new drive to the same as the previous sounds like a good idea - I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes.

Hi I have always used an external drive with a big folder of clips in it. I've bought a new ext hard drive and put the same folder onto that but although it works fine loading up clips into new compositions, all the old compositions won't load...
