Thanks.
Yes - I can see the benefit in using higher res files, especially if they might then be scaled up. And it also kind of future proofs the project a little.
At the moment though, I'm just trying to get the frame rate up.
I guess another question would be, if a file is being rescaled from ...

Using 1080 clips in a 720 composition - bad idea?!
Sill fairly new to Resolume and building a set, and I’m just trying to get my head around the rendering system.
I’ve built a 1920x1080 composition with a whole load of 1920x1080 movie clips. I’m now trying to optimise it to run as smooth as possible, and am thinking that 1280x720 is probably a ...

Re: Resolume freezes, can't select clip, have to force quit
Ah legend! That's a really useful feature I didn't know about.
There's all kinds of craziness being sent over from Ableton. I had the IAC set to input and output data in Live so that may have been causing issues. Even after I switched off the input though, I think there might be a dodgy M4L patch ...

Resolume freezes, can't select clip, have to force quit
I have a fairly simple setup with 12 clips on one layer, 12 effect clips on another layer, with both layers going to a group. The clips are being triggered via OSC (using OOEEVV's M4L patches from Ableton). I've got a few different bits of IAC MIDI routing going on in Live 9 and a couple of other ...

Re: Individual clip start offset/anchor point
Ah yes! Good idea. Just tried it and it works well to get a loop with a different start point.
In an ideal world, I'd like to be able to skip around the clip by hitting different MIDI notes, as this would save on RAM by only needing to load one version of the clip, instead of several with different ...

Individual clip start offset/anchor point
Not sure if this is possible, but I want to have a clip start halfway through and then loop back to the beginning in BPM mode. Essentially, it would mean having a movable anchor point that serves as the 1 down beat, allowing you to change the feel of the loop whilst retaining the overall timing ...

Re: Need help with basic Layer Routing
Right... well.. on closer inspection it was human error (as is often the case)!
I copied the FX chain over, but there was a Bright.Contrast effect with Brightness attached to a MIDI dial which must have been down at the time I copied it over. I guess over time as you learn these things you build up ...

Re: Need help with basic Layer Routing
Many thanks for the welcome and in-depth reply. I hope the pint was tasty :)
I've had 20+ years going down the audio production rabbit hole and am now discovering the VJ hole is just as deep!
I went and tried adding an FX clip on to Layer 11 above the other layers, but it still resulted in a black ...

Need help with basic Layer Routing
I'm fairly new to Resolume and hitting a bit of a brick wall trying to use the Layer Router. I understand the principle, but it doesn't seem to be working as it should. It's possible I'm doing something simple like not using the right blend mode, but I've tried a load and it still doesn't seem to ...
