I figured out how to make a video an effect in Wire with a texture input for the back ground layer and opacities assigned to transition phase but it still crossfades even with an envelop propping up the opacity. I always do because that what you have to do to make it smooth. and I did find a way to make it so you could see the thumb nails but I lost the thread of how to do it...something like Converter General...? if someone finds that please link!
