I once tried to edit XML (converting in real time to JSON) but it didn't work. Resolume does not listen the changes in the file.
And it would be a lot of work to parse it all.

I believe it is not possible to select the column without connecting it, there is no OSC message for this. Not least because we don't even have this functionality in the interface.
I also use TD, I'm currently studying ways to interact using WebSockets instead of OSC.

If it's macOS, you can use SwitchResX (https://www.madrau.com/). It allows you to configure a resolution for each application individually.
