I had the same dark output on vga after update to 10.6.3.
Simple solution: just selected another colorsync-profile (from vga-monitor to syncmaster)
and everything works fine...

a whole new conceptional approach, worth exploring new ways to use resolume.
what i am wondering:
anamorphotic material appears scaled down on the down left corner of the composition
with some "blow"-effect around.
