best capture card for live vid input??

Post by quicksnail »

I'd like to get a capture card for Resolume 2.0
I've searched the forum but I find little specific information about what cards people are using and if the framerates are decent. Is there always going to be a lag? has anyone achieved no noticeable lag?

So I'm hoping to get two things going in this post.

1)How about everyone post the capture card they are using with a comment about the framerates and any other comments.

2)Maybe the developers can suggest the optimal specs for and recommendations for capture cards that work best with resolume. what kind of drivers etc.

and lastly can someon explain how the video in works? does it take uncompressed video from the capture card? If so I guess capture cards with hardware encoders offer no advantage to resolume?
I'd like to get a usb 2.0 capture card but i'm holding off until i find some answers.

I realize this is alot of questions - but hoping someone can shed some light here.

thanks

for me this is the best optinos for live video, but very expansive, for what i know this interfaces have less delay than the best osprey cards!! ;)
