two bpm related suggestions (easy to implement)

Post by cuak »

SUGGESTION #1 BPM values

it'd really nice (and simple from a programmers point of view) to implement more beat values for effect assignment.

right now, you can choose between 1 beat and 64 beats when you assign bpm to an effect. my suggestion is to add:

half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth, thirty-second, sixty-fourth, hundred twenty-eight (and maybe triplets too through a checkbox/switch)

I get around this limitation by double-tapping my bpm (if it's 120, I set it to 240 or even 480) but I get a very limited range with this mode.

SUGGESTION #2 BPM play modes

right now we have 3 play modes:
forward, backward and min-max

it'd be nice to add more modes:

- Random Mode
imagine you have a slot with 100 images and you want to play them back in random order, but in sync with the bpm metronome. this would be a nice way to do it.

- pulse mode
just like min-max, but in a way that'll stay in min, and jump to max for a very short time (a few milliseconds) on every beat.

- log mode
just like standard forward/backward mode, but in a non-linear way: logarithmic (maybe you can add several modes, cosine, sine, and so on.... maybe add assignable oscillators that that can get in sync with bpm, this is probably harder to implement, and i think it was already suggested or mentioned)

that's all folks!

keep the good stuff comming!

another one:

add the "substract" and "add" methods of audio controller to the bpm controller.. and if possible, a step value.

this way, one could set an effect parameter to forward n steps on every n beats

simple uh? :D
