"problem loading file. file is ignored"
i am getting this from some mov, some mpg and some avi. others work ok, but some files just won't load.
What could the problem be? dimensions? codecs?
how could i convert the clips (that play perfectly in VLC) to make them ok for resolume?
by the way i haven't fully understood how to tell resolume to use a certain codec (for example pegasus picvideo)

Re: problem loading file. file is ignored
you dont need to "tell" resolume what codec to use, it will play any videos which are in a codec supported by resolume.
you encode them to the codec before playing them in resolume, something like virtualdub or the batch encoder from Livid ( both are free ) will allow you to convert your files in to your codec of choice.
try using one of the reccomended ones that are listed in the resolume manual, personaly i sue the pegasus mjpeg codec as i find it works well for me. its a good idea to make sure all your clips are the same codec as this will make reolume run more smoothly.
with the files that arent loading, try re-encoing them to a different codec.

Re: problem loading file. file is ignored
Hello!
As i understand from many topics here this is a problem of v2.41 or soft instaled on PC. Today I oppened new Sony Viao and installed v2.41 installed recomended codec from site and I cannot open several avi files from demofootage included in resolume. I am using Vista now cuz of no drivers for XP for my laptop
. The point is that I cannot play this files in Any player in Windows but if I encoded it it playing with no problems. I read all posts regarding this problem in this topics but there is no solution was founded except as I remember installing XP or encoding files with codecs.
So WHO has this problem please reply. I think that this is Vista problem. If anyone can help with ANY advice please DO cuz many people got this problem!
Thanks guys!

Guru please give us newbs a little atention!
Re: problem loading file. file is ignored
for .mov files installing the latest quicktime from apple.com solved the problem for me.
anyhow, for example, the first 10 channels in the deck demo1 of the demo footage won't load... they will show the first frame in the layer selected but nothing in the output.
i too am using vista.
two questions about rencoding:
1)won't i loose much quality converting from one compressed format to another? (for example mpeg to avi)
2)is there a way of automating rencoding of multiple files? like if i have a full folder of mpegs to convert in avis.. in virtual dub maybe?

Re: problem loading file. file is ignored
Just installed 2.41 on laptop with XP SP2 installed and there is no such problem appears. So AS I understand that sort of bug working on Vista!

Re: problem loading file. file is ignored
not sure wether or not its an issue caused by a Quicktime update, but id strongly suggest not using mpeg's anyway. Using one of the codecs reccomended in the Resolume manual will give you much better performance.
