hi there everybody!!!
after being stuck forever with version 2.0 i decided to upgrade but i encountered a lil problem, for no apparent reason some of the clips show vertically compressed in the upper half of the screen...
did anybody experience anything similar???
i have to mention that the clips are rendered using picvideo mjpeg 3.0, otherwise it runs on some unimportant classic HW...
I d really apprecciate any advice ,)
Cheers, Globus
some clips behave weird after upgrade :(
Re: some clips behave weird after upgrade :(
Hello,
I have the same Problem. just formated my whole harddisk new and its still there...
the clips appear perfectly normal when played in mediaplayer or vlc.
in resolume they show those vertical artifacts and the resolution seems to be lower.
last time i used resolume at a show i got massive performance problems using the record function together with a live cam. it seems that resolume has some internal codec issue.
i am resetting now and installing the pic codec before installing resolume. hope this helps as i got a show this evening
System:
FujitsuSiemens Amilo
nvidia Geforce 6800
processor 2,13Ghz
Win xp pro SP2
2gig Ram

Re: some clips behave weird after upgrade :(
hey there!
update after testing:
the pic video codec is not the problem.
i installed like mentioned above and then tested with some old pic-coded clips.
one artifact line affecting hue and saturation in the upper third of the picture was still visible. only with moving image though. when freezed the line vanishes.
i then tested with some of the demofootage .swfs and surprisingly got the same artifact line.
downgrading resolume to version 2.3 brought the fix. no line anymore.
so it seems to be a bug in version 2.4.
hmm... the bad thing about it is that i need the beatcounter for running my clips (i love that feature!!), so if theres no fix for that i guess i will just go with the line tonight...
...hoping that its not the same reason which caused my low system performance. the last time playing and recording
did anybody encounter the same problem?
any fixes?? or suggestions by the resolume team?
ciao .mrt

Update 2:
new test with a vga output:
the "line" disappeared in the preview window and appeared in the output screen.
it looks like one line of pixles is just doing the wrong thing. either they are negativein hue or delayed in time or dislocated. i dont know for shure because the mistake just appears when motion takes place.
it has nothing to do with the record function or codec, also the internal processing seems to be alright as i can record clips and freeze them without finding this "line".
anyway, the "line" moved location now, from upper to lower half.
i am out of ideas what to test. has someone out there a solution or idea?
maybe its a graphic card issue... i checked, i have a "geforce go 6800", couldnt find any updates for this series at the nvidia page (its just not there...)
also they have no mail tech support...
well, if anyone has a solution for this please post it here!!!
this is just annoying and really destroys the picture!
thanks in advance .mrt

Re: some clips behave weird after upgrade :(
Can you post a screenshot? We're curious to see what the artifact looks like.
You can try and install the latest omega drivers for your nVidia geforce:

Let us know if this helps.

Re: some clips behave weird after upgrade :(
hello,
just checked in and found this old post
i got rid of the artefacts but can't really remember how...
i think i can remember that after having tried every possible software solution i found out that the fan for my grafikcard was totally blocked by dust (!aha!) which gave my grafikcard a hard time and making it run very slow...
for the grafikcard update:
this was only possible after updating the firmware.
theres a good (german) guideline here: http://www.amilo-forum.de/topic,5041,-n ... mmies.html
thanks .mrt

Re: some clips behave weird after upgrade :(
hi, i remembered my password after a "while" and had to make a reaction to this discussion:
the thing i was originally talking about was no "artifacts" but the fact that some of my clips compressed vertically to half of their size, so the result is that lower half of the output screen is black and upper half of the screen displays the compressed clip ...
i wouldnt care that much but when i accidentally select an "infected" clip, resolume tends to freeze...
anybody interested in 2.41 yet??? ;o))
