OSC message index (scratchpad-oriented)

Post by allume »

I'm trying to make a custom hardware built with arduino and talking to res 3 via osc.
I'm spending so much time in doing this, and probably my pc will be out-of-date to run resolume when I'm done :D :D :D

BUT

I've been reading through resoulme osc manual.
I find that some osc messages are missing (or, again, it's me ;) )
Any way to find a transport command?
like layer[number]/clip[number]/transport/value
to me this would behaving like a scratchpad.

any other way to make custom scratchpad for resolume?

In my opinion OSC is one of the more interesting feautures in res3, even if a lot of programming knowledge is demanded (in whatever language / visual programming software you are in).

thx

Yes, you can! (control the transport behaviour)
And other things too. Do you know that you can see the OSC message for every Midi-controllable button/fader/whatever.. ? Just go into Midi application mapping, click the button/fader/function you want to control and to the lower left there is a little line of text, starting with "OSC:" ... smile now ;)
If you want layer based transport controls, enable thos in the "view" menu before you go into Midi app mapping.

If you don't bother digging into Resolumes config.xml: you can find an entry there qhich is called like OSC send. It is disabled by default. Enable it and right next to the above mentioned OSC text line will a button appear "Send OSC". It only sends out OSC when you click on it (we are still waiting for standard OSC out *begging*) but it is quite handy for testing.

Man, this i s EXACTLY what I was looking for.
At the moment I'm not in my studio and can't test it.
I'm going to do it within the week.

Thanks a lot!
