Stream video over network

Post by ikari »

Hi, i have just started using Resolume 3.2. Very impressive app!! I just wanted to know how do i stream the video signal from 1 computer to another? Ultimately i will be having 3 computers, 1 acting as a mixer with the other 2 feeding it video over the network.
So how can i do this?
I read that vidnet is the protocol used for streaming video but i cannot see any vidnet tab.

Hey Ikari

This question gets asked a lot, but there is no out of the box solution yet. Especially if you want more than one input stream, the demands on the network become quite heavy. At the moment it would actually be more advisable to find a hardware based mixing solution.

If you do want to go the software route, one way is to use fugStream, which is decribed here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6662&p=25227&hilit=stream#p25227
Good luck, and let us know how it works out!

Hi Joris,

Thank you for your reply. I had read about it in Resolume v2 so wondered why it was dropped in v3. But i guess it was too demanding on the network. I do have an Edirol V4, but connecting over a network seemed like a more elegant solution. Thank you for the link i will take a look.
