Hello Folks,
I'm having some problems keeping things in sync using MIDI triggered videos - fired from Ableton and then kept on track by the clock.
The drift or lag changes slightly each time, and I wondering if I'm pushing Resolume a bit too far.
Many of the clips are between 5 and 8 minutes. Is this a ridiculous length in most people's experience?
Much of the BPMing in Resolume involves much smaller clips I realise, but I was under the impression that it was robust enough to cope with it.
The problem is worse with faster BPM speeds. - There's a fair amount of Lip-Sync, so the problem becomes pretty noticable after a while.
The videos are more often (but not always) drifting to be too early.
I'm running a very fast Dell laptop and nothing appears to being put under pressure hardware wise.
Long BPM-Synced DXV clips
Re: Long BPM-Synced DXV clips
In one of the resolume demo they use the movie cllip of star guitar, which is 4 min long, without problems.
Is the sound encoded in the video or it s a separate wav ?

Re: Long BPM-Synced DXV clips
Hello there,
The DXV clips have no audio - and I'm not playing any audio from the VJ laptop.
All Audio is coming from the Ableton machine.
MIDI notes and clock arrive via a MIDI-to-USB adapter from the DJ soundcard.

Re: Long BPM-Synced DXV clips
Are the videos quantized? Syncing them to a certain number of beats won't match up perfectly unless they are exactly that number of beats.
Re: Long BPM-Synced DXV clips
We're putting a beep at specific points on the audio that is being edited to in Sony Vegas.
They are then exported with the In and Out points as close as possible to the frame on which the beeps start.
This seems like a tiny discrepency to cause such a dynamic lag / speedup?
- It's slightly different each time.

And are these beeps set at the start of a measure or bar?

The problem in version 3.2.0 persists! Does anyone know if it will be fixed?
I have a 16-bar synced clip that runs faster than the actual tempo!

Can you all please send a test video to support@resolume.com so we can try it with your footage?
Thanks!
