Clips from Windows to Mac

Post by vjm »

Up until now I've been using Resolume on Windows, and the clips were all in MOV format (using DXV codec). However I have now switched to a Mac.

Does it make any difference (performance-wise) since the clips were converted using the windows DXV codec? Should I re-convert them on the Mac itself?

Thanks a lot :)

Nope DXV works for both mac and pc :) which version of the codec did you encode in?

Dunno exact version, but it definitely wasn't the latest since I don't remember having the alpha option (like there is now). Should I reconvert with the latest codec? Does that bring about any performance improvements?

Thanks :)

it will make no difference other than having the alpha channel, so unless you need alpha on those clips, i wouldnt bother.

the improved performance is to do with encoding - ie it encodes quicker.
