Autoload last show - ON/OFF

Post by cosmowe »

Hallo Resolumes,
sometimes my last opened projects are very huge and take serveral minutes to load completely.
So..it "can" be very annoying when I just want to start resolume to test a clip...but first have to wait some minutes untill I can create a new composition....and add my testclip.

I would like to have a choiceable - autoload last composition ON/OFF

+1

a workaraound is, to save your "show"compositions outside the default folder and just leave an empty composition in the default load folder.

other way around... just load an empty composition before closing Avenue... ;)

Hmm... no thats no workaround for me :D
After a show with a huge composition resolume often don't close properly...so I have to kill resolume in the taskmanager.

That would be a great option, I find that if Res crashes, more often than not the composition file gets corrupted and will not reload unless the file is removed from the compositions folder. (I am running a 6 output system and overloading res happens a lot, not so much on my laptop 1-3 output setup)

Another option is to double click the demo.avc file, or another simple composition file that has little to nothing in it.

I’d also like this – different events usually need different compositions, so the auto load is rarely useful.

During a gig.. autoload is very usefull when you have a crash, or need to reboot...
Also if you prepared a show at home, you only have to start up Avenue on loaction and it's there ...

Apart from that I agree, I almost always start with a new composition on location for every show and build/grow it during the show...

indeeeed ;)

What I want to suggest are A/B buttons like we got on the file browser panel. Because if you ever want to load a deck during a gig from a comp that is not inside the default folder you're out of luck. And even further: if it was that Resolume wouldn't stop playing when opening a different comp would be great. For instance if several VJs want to perform on the same machine you either need to merge all the comps into one or have the show being interrupted for the time the comp is loaded. A/B buttons, A/B buttons, Anyone? :D
