Hi.
I have some PC based applications, all flash, that are not exactly Avenue compatible. So I usually grab the HP Notebook composite video signal running those into Avenue (on Mac) using EasyCap DC60+ USB device. It works fine and it is a solution.
Anyway, I am not satisfyed with the image quality in some app. It is not the product quality itself or the apps. It is just that I am using a video composite signal and I want a better image quality.
When I try S-VHS cabling and the EasyCap DC60+, Avenue displays available S Video input but no image is actually being grabbed thru that input signal. In fact, Avenue is interpretating any connection sent by EasayCap USB as Composie Video, no matter what is the cabling. The result is also the same.
SO....
I a looking for a cheap solution on how to send my HP video signal to the Mac through the Firewire port. Is there a way? Maybe VGA to Firewire would be great, althoug I´ve read it is not practical.
I´ve tried some tests using some Firewire video device cabling but so far I was unable to make Avenue recognize a Firewire input source.
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance.

Using the MacBook Pro Firewire port to video capture. How?
Re: Using the MacBook Pro Firewire port to video capture. How?
I just found this: Epiphan VGA2USB.
I guess Avenue should work with that device smoothly. Anyone?

these usb to vga devices won't work i think, don't think there are open gl drivers for it (which are compatible)
