Any chance for scale to composition hotkey?

you could use the keyboard mapping function, same like with MIDI or OSC.

We have tried mapping this to a hotkey however it doesn't work.
It would be bloody amazing if it was possible to scale all selected clips at once rather than going through hundreds of clicks to resize each individual clip.

Saying that, Arena 4 is already freakin awesome!

I did scale all the clips in a deck/layer by selecting them, rightclick on te label under one of the clips and select "scale to fit composition".
It only works when none of the selected clips are playing.
If one of the selected clips is playing, not one of them will get resized.
Allthough this is also not working all the time.
I just can't pinpoint exactly why it isn't working all the time.

first there was a max patch for it
but since 3.2 or so u have scaling options in the layer preferences, so no need to scale any clip.
right click on the bar and the comp-resolution is set
this way you can also handle f.e. 16:9 and 4:3 clips correctly scaled on different layers or use the fParameters plugin to fit the aspect ratio

You should be able to do a multiple clip select on R4, and then right click and scale all to fit to composition. If there are bugs or unexpected behaviour with this, please drop us a mail!

It does indeed scale to fit but doesn't update the interface on right click "scale to comp". a bit confusing in the heat of the night the hotkey doesn't work at all with multiple clips selected (I bet that's what vjsjarcie told you…).

Especially when working with effects this feature sometimes does more harm than good. So it would be nice, once you know which clips are sensible, to multi select and have a working shortcut to scale just those clips that won't be effected by the layer's "scale to comp" option.

From the main pulldown menu "Clip" are 2 useful options:
(1) Select all
(2) Scale to composition

Using 'scale to composition' I _always_ have to do it twice to make Arena actually scale the clips. I'm not sure if it should behave that way.

What I would like to find is an option that scales a clip to the compo's size once it is dropped into a layer, automatically. Does such a function exist?
