Using four cameras for input

For an upcoming performance, it would be really really helpful to have four camera inputs into Resolume.

So far we've successfully used two cameras, by using two similar (but different) cameras.

What would be the best, scalable way of using four cameras?

This depends on the cameras and what sort of connection and resolution they output.

But by far the most reliable input method is and remains BlackMagic cards (but don't get the VideoRecorder, that's just a recorder!)

Ok, so I've been doing a bit of digging, and think I might have a solution. Tell me what you think.

Ideally, we'd be looking at a digital signal path, in HD. However, the most important thing is framerate, so we're willing to go to analog, 720x480.

I have found video capture cards for security applications from companies like Bluecherry and Geovision, the latter has models that support 720x480 @ 30fps on 4 channels. It appears from their manual that the card simply appears like 4x DirectShow video inputs.

Does anyone have experience with these devices? Any luck?

I would recommend Blackmagic Intensity pro. One word- *Solid* I have tried many other capture cards, this one is awesome.
