Preferences GPU select
Preferences GPU select
To my understanding even though Resolume can output across multiply graphics cards it is best to use a single GPU for Resolume. Almost all modern motherboards have access via hdmi to the on board HD3000 or HD 4000 GPU. It would be nice to be able to use the on board HDX000 GPU for the control screen while being able to dedicate the your PCIexpress card to your projector outputs and opengl processing. Currently I believe doing this could limit your processing to the hdX000 GPU while not harness the more powerful GPU. What I'd like to see is a drop down box in the video preferences to force the opengl processing to a specific card and then you could use the on board GPU for control. For that matter you could use a usb to vga PofS dongle for control.
Re: Preferences GPU select
The interface of resolume is GL too - it needs a fat GPU to run properly.
Splitting different parts of the app to different cards causes more issues than it solves.

Interesting. Damn. Oh well
Re: Preferences GPU select
Also think about what this means.
If you know that Resolume does *all* its processing on the card with the GUI on it, there's no benefit in splitting the load. You can just run your output via the cheap card. It will still do the processing on the main card.
Apparently the Club 3D USB/DVI dongles work like a charm for this: http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/produc ... apter.html
A good way to think about it, is to see your outputs simply as copies of the output preview window. Which lives in the interface.
