Looking for some advise, i got a file 1280 x 720, 1 hour long about 2.6GB, i am converting it to DXV 800 x rest the file became huge almost 8GB, will that cause problems? Or is there a better way to do that, like breaking it up in pieces of 8 and do a auto play function one clip to the other.
Computer is a Core i7 with 8GB RAM and a NIVIDIA GTX640m on Windows, regular HDD 1TB 7200RPM.
Please let me know some suggestions...

I've always assumed the length of the file is irrelevant. Its the codec that does the work. Having a decent amount of RAM and ideally playing it off a SSD or raptor drive is best though I would have thought.

OK so i tested for a day, all worked out. I did make one large file as well as broke it apart into 4 parts, didn't make a difference. I used the large file, CUE effects, scrubbing, speed changes all worked in real time... I am happy.

How long did you let your session run?
Re: Have to play huge file looking for recommandations
I was testing it at home for about 12 hours, the show itself was about 90min for that particular file used in combination with other files... then an other 4 hours with my other content.
