midi layer mapping

Post by pillage »

Hello :)

I am new to this and would like some help please :D

I'm playing with the demo and trying to set up my midi controller to control EQ sound effects on separate layers, but when I hit midi map it only gives me the option to map to layer 1?

Basically what I want to do is have my midi controller mapped to EQ's on each layer so I can mix 2 layers of audio simultaneously like on a DJ mixer or ableton etc...

Is this possible or am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks :)

P.

This is a bit unintuitive at fist, but it's explained in detail in the manual: https://resolume.com/manual/en/r4/controlling#midi
MIDI mapping works very similarly to Key mapping (above), so it’s a good idea to read that part as well if you haven’t already. It explains the difference between Application and Composition mapping, and the ‘layer’ and ‘deck’ focus.

Tip! Read the Key mapping paragraph. Even if you just want to map your shiny new midi controller, it has essential info for all mapping modes. You don’t want to come across like a noob because you don’t know how to map all the layers, now do you?

Resolume can be a bit complicated when it comes to this, so we try to keep it light hearted. Thanks for taking the joke in good stride.

Might I suggest reading a bit further and looking into Application Mode, deck focus? That's probably the mode you're looking for.
