Hello,
I am looking for a laptop to work with Resolume, After Effects and Photoshop. Now I have a DELL laptop and I would like to choose laptop of this manufacturer. My price range is about 800 Euro's. I don't demand too much from Resolume - satisfy me max. 1280x720 (output) and of course clips in 1280x720 resolution. My current choice is DELL Inspiron 7537.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4200U 1.60 GHz - 2.6 Ghz, 2 cores, 3 MB cache
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400 + GeForce GT 750M 2 GB (GDDR5)
Hard Disk: 120 GB SSD SATA III
What you think about it? Have you any suggest?
Just one more question - GeForce or Radeon is better?
P.S. Sorry for my english and my mistakes in post.

Re: Help choose laptop
The GeForce GT 750M is the better, faster option. Coupled with the i5 2.6 Ghz processor.
GeForce GT 735M 384 @ 575 - 889MHz - 64 Bit @ 1800 - 2000MHz
HD Graphics 4400 20 @ 200 - 1100MHz --? Bit
My suggestion- Lenovo Y510p
4th gen i7
Dual Graphics (-SLI-)
2 hardisks -1ssd
Might be slightly more than 800 eur
Either machine will run resolume with ease.
p.s. Your english is very good.

Re: Help choose laptop
SLI graphics are a one way trip to resolume crashville. Or any dual GPU card.

Re: Help choose laptop
Oh dear. I hate that city. The second card is optional.
Re: Help choose laptop
thedawjones and drazkers, thank you very much for your answers. But what does "crashville" mean?
SLI graphics makes problems with the Resolume? Can you explain? Do Resolume uses two cards at the same time? Is the choice of a laptop with SLI will be better for Resolume than single card?

Re: Help choose laptop
hi marcinb,
Crashville is a fantasy city. In Crashville computers will always crash.
Shure...you can buy a notebook with two graphic cards but Resolume will not benefit of it. To be honest, you have to disable the second one to run Resolume stable. If you are going to use your notebook ONLY for Resolume...safe some money and choose one with only one good graphic card. Resolume only uses one GPU.

Re: Help choose laptop
cosmowe, thanks for the explanation - I guessed that. I have to think about it. I really like DELL laptops and it's difficult for me to choose a laptop from another manufacturer. I'll be back to thread.

Re: Help choose laptop
If you like Dell...buy a Alienware....its the gaming brand from Dell.

+1 one for Schenker / XMG laptops. They may have bulky appearance but the power/cost is unbeatable.
