Layer Advance/Presentation Clicker

Post by dirtyjohn_lv »

Has anyone been able to get a Presentation Mouse/Click working with the Layer/Column advance arrow with Bomes or something similar?

I can get it to advance for 1 or 2 slides, then stops working.

I have OSC controls for that purpose, but this is more for corporate clients comfortable giving presentations that are used to something like PowerPoint

This translates the pageUp/pageDown what the clicker sends, into forward and backward OSC commands.
So the client can use the clicker as he is used to.
The program loads the composition avc, and you can simply step over slides by moving them out of layer 1, save in Resolume, reload in Controller.

Doesn't work to well. Skips column 7, 11, after 15 it goes back to column 4.

If I select something higher than 15 and go back, it unloads everything. If I select 14 or less, it goes back 1 clip then does nothing after that.

If the program isn't in the foreground, clicking forward does nothing.

Then the demo expired..

sounds like you clicked thru the example composition which is supplied for possible usage scenarios. The program can do much more than column advancing. Click the i button on the top right corner to view the read me for info.

prepare your own composition, and load that composition in Controller.
when there is a clip or an empty clip, but has a name in layer 1 , that column will show up in the cue list in Controller. Other columns will be jumped over.

(the presentation clicker will not work in powerpoint either if it is in the background.)

there is a short video example similar to what you would like to do on the webpage bottom.

I made a composition with only 1 layer to test it, put around 25 clips on it, loaded it into controller and that's what happened.
Powerpoint also has native support, so when you're in presentation mode, it takes up the full screen and don't really have the option to have anything else in the foreground. With a custom preview on the control monitor, Resolume takes up whole screen and covers any other applications open.

Another problem ran into testing today is it randomly loses connection to client 1 (set to default 127.0.0.1). OSC in Resolume matches

Does the jumping happen when you just hit enter instead of using the clicker?

so things than could cause the lost connection message:
OSC Bundles are off in arena?, leaving them on causes OSC message loss on one end of the pipe, I'm not sure yet which end.
I noticed some connection losses when lots of parameters moving in resolume generate lots of OSC messages.
and the one looked for does not come in time.
You can switch connection monitoring off entirely setting the connection check interval to 0.

maybe you could send me the composition file that produces this jumping.

I found a keycode monitor, could you test which keycodes your clicker produces?

I updated my program, so you can assign the clicker buttons to the Next, Previous, Blackout and Bypass functions.
